Is This Progress?

Here are photos of men in crazy outfits on the runway, wearing hosiery. I am glad that it is becoming more obvious and prominent. I think that it will force people to think about it.

Unfortunately, it is not how we dress at all. Hopefully, people will be turned off of those outfits, but not be turned off of how we dress.

Used Hosiery: For Dehydrating Paper

We have heard of many ways to reuse hosiery. HosieryDrawer.com suggests, Stretch an old nylon leg over a dehydrator tray and you have a great surface for drying home-made paper.. For more ideas, click used, which can also be found in the right column of this page, under Popular Topics.

Dear H.A.: How To Not Get Strange Glances?

[This is just my attempt at being funny.]

Dear Hosiery Advocate, I am a guy, who usually wears pink tights with shorts. Every time I walk down the street, people look at me in a strange way. How do I get them to stop?

Open Surveys Listed On 1 Page

For those of you who have not explored my blog all the way, yet, I would like to point out that there should be a list of pages along the top of the page: Home; Find Me; Colourful Pairs; Opaquest Pairs; About; Open Surveys. If you click on Open Surveys at the top, then you should be able to find a list of surveys that are still open. I made the open surveys page to allow you to avoid searching through all the blog entries to find out what surveys are still open.

Group Purchases Survey

For those of you, who have not seen my open surveys page, I want to point out that I forgot to place a link to the reopened survey. I finally noticed it, and corrected it. Here's a quote on that page.

This survey has been reopened. Read the blog entry for the results and commentary. I don't quite know why I even closed it in the first place.

Last Week's Friday Fun Poll Results: Height And Weight For Group Purchases

4 of us responded. Read the remainder of the blog entry for the results.

Even though I have posted the results, I will still allow the survey to remain open, so that we could allow more people to participate.

Friday Fun Poll: Where Do You Get Snagged & Laddered?

This is just for fun. It is about what parts of our hosiery typically get runs first. Vote in the poll, and then, if you wish, comment below to share your funniest laddering story. Men and women are encouraged to participate.

Hosiery Progress On The Runway

Remember when men in shorts and hosiery first appeared on the runway? It was exciting, because we seemed to be making progress. However, not much happened after that, other than more brands coming out. Men in shorts and hosiery [i.e. opaques; tights] on the runway has been generating news, in the past 7 days. This time around, I think that it is going to make more of an impact, because a lot of people are already aware of it. Also, this time around, women are more interested in wearing shorts and hosiery. This could be the big change that we have been waiting for.

Fray Check Useful For Altering Hosiery

Altering hosiery has become a little more popular in the last little while, as people become more interested in getting hosiery that fits. A friend on Twitter recommended that I apply Fray Check, instead of sewing.

Professional Athlete Advocates Compression Socks

Carl Landry is not advocating the full length hosiery that we wear, but he is doing the world a big favour by advocating compression socks. I believe that when people wear ankle high socks, they end up being less interested in full length hosiery, and that the higher the socks, the more that they'll be open to full length hosiery.

First Survey Results: Men Not Wearing At The Work Place

First, I'm sorry about not publishing this information sooner. I kept putting it off, until I forgot about it. Second, bear in mind that I answered twice, because I answered for 2 different jobs that I had: 1 in a department store; 1 in the army.

Read the remainder of this blog entry for the survey results.

By the way, this took hours of work. Would you do me a favour, and write "Thanks!", in a comment below? It would really encourage me. This blog entry actually made me miserable.

2 Improvements To Surveys

To protect your privacy, I removed the requirement to type in your city. Hopefully, I did not forget to do it for the older surveys. I think that your city is unnecessary at this stage. In fact, it is probably completely unnecessary.

I decided to keep the serious surveys open, instead of closing them every week. Those of you who did not get a chance to participate can do so. Take a look at Open Surveys to find them. I do not understand why I ever closed them in the first place.

Last Week's Friday Fun Poll Results: Colour Preferences For Group Purchases

I asked about our colour preferences for group purchases, and 5 of us responded. Read the remainder of the blog entry for the results.

Even though I have posted the results, I will still allow the survey to remain open, so that we could allow more people to participate.

Friday Fun Poll: Height And Weight For Group Purchases

I created another poll, which is for the hosiery group purchase. This is not just for fun. It is about which lengths we want to purchase. Vote in the poll, and then, if you wish, comment below to share your answers and thoughts, or not. Men and women are encouraged to participate, but the products will be for men, but the products should be usable for many women too.

My Opinion On Control Top Maternity Hosiery

It seems that there are health care professionals voicing their concerns over control top tights for pregnant women. My opinion is women should not focus on their appearances, as far as tummy compression goes. It should be entirely about the health of the baby, and then the health of the mother. In most/all cases, the health of both are 1 in the same. So, wear the control top hosiery, if it is healthy, and do not wear it, if it is not. If it is neither healthy nor unhealthy, then do what feels best.

I say this, just to voice my opinion, so that anybody trying to get a sense of what the internet community thinks, can get my opinion.

Pantyhose Trend Is Gaining Ground

Sometimes people get a chance to discuss with me why I wear hosiery. I want them to know that 1 of the reasons is that I want to practise creating a trend. It seems that tights are becoming too irresistible for women. Unfortunately for me, I do not get any credit for this, as far as I know.

Keep on pushing on. VICTORY-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y!!!

Somebody Recommended HUE Super Opaque Control Top Tight

Several days ago, I tried to make a couple of suggestions for good beginner hosiery. It turns out that HUE is recommended by somebody else. Here is the choice quote from her blog entry.

I went shopping a few days ago and purchased a pair of Hue tights from Anthropologie. They were $14.50 and they're called the Super Opaque Control Top Tight. I love the look of opaque tights but have never been able to find one that's very opaque. These Hue tights are definitely one of the best I've ever tried. They're very opaque and I like that the seams aren't as noticeable as some others. I hate when you wear tights under a mini and you can see the outline of the seam. I also love that they don't fall down. Some tights are so stretchy and thin that they don't stay up on your waist. I highly suggest them if you like super opaque tights!

I plan on buying a pair to test them, and then if they are good, then I will try to update the opaquest hosiery page.

Shorts And Hosiery For Canada's Winter 2011

Quite a few of my visitors want to know about fashion trends for 2011. The Edmonton Journal confirms the shorts and hosiery trend for this winter season. You can see Nicole Richie wearing shorts and tights, this winter [better photos], as well. This is great news. Good job, women. If only the men could climb on board.

No Testimonials From The Survey About Men Wearing Hosiery In The Work Place

I am so sorry. Please forgive me. I remember saying that I would post some testimonials from that survey. It turns out that I deleted them all. I must have forgotten about them, when I deleted the survey. I am very disappointed, because there were good stories in there. If you left a testimonial that you would like to share, then please feel free to comment below. Also, feel free to promote your blog.

An Interesting Way Of Rolling Up Hosiery For Storage

Last week, I read a lady's blog entry on how to roll up hosiery. It has some nice photos to illustrate the technique.

I am not sure that I want this technique for most of my hosiery, but it would make sense for packing my suitcase. I could store the rolled up hosiery in my shoes, and it would not take much extra space. The panty portion would protect the leg portion. It might also make sense for the hosiery that I wear at home, because I do not really care about its condition.

Is Hooters Inappropriate For Children?

The question has been discussed by women. It seems that feminists complained to the police about Hooters marketing to children.

So far, my view is that it is not appropriate for children, because the restaurant is based on sexuality. Women are wearing tight clothing to show off body parts. In ballet, they are wearing tight clothing, too, but they do not do it, to show off body parts.

You do not have an opinion on the matter, do you?

Good Beginner Hosiery?

A friend and I discussed her friend not wearing hosiery. We thought a bit about how to get her back into them. This made me wonder what the ideal pair is for somebody who has never worn any, or who needs to...to...get back into it. ;^D Read the remainder of the blog entry for my suggestions

Humourous Comment About Hosiery

This page had a comment that I found funny. I think that the author meant it in a different way than we would, if we wrote it, but it seemed funny to me. If you go to that page, then be sure to read the entire paragraph, otherwise, you might miss it.

Goals For 2011

Happy New Year. I wish you all the best for 2011. It is cliche but true.
